:: wall + pocket 11 ::
This wall + pocket was made for the Kim Family Auction. Stephanie + Lisa and their mother Gerrie have graciously organized a wonderful fine art + craft auction which will begin January 3. After browsing through the contributing artists list, I can guarantee you that this is an event you don't want to miss!
As I sat down to create the wall + pocket for the Kim Family Auction, I tinkered with a new design-- all linen, no patchwork, floating pockets. To be honest, this is something right up my alley. I'm a plain Jane type of gal when it comes to my interior decor. But I figured it wasn't the right time to try out a new design, so I placed my half-completed wall + pocket in the "work in progress" pile. I ended up using a similar design for one of my favorite wall + pockets that I created for ReForm School last month. I added some new fabric [don't you love the red owl Superbuzzy fabric?] and I'm happy with the end result. I'm hoping some sweet soul out there will love it too.
So I still had the other all linen wall + pocket on my brain a few days ago when I picked up the January 2007 issue of Martha Stewart Living. And lo and behold, there was a photograph of an all linen wall organizer with pockets [see below]. Oh my! So very similar to what I was working on. Isn't it funny when your craft projects collide with the real world?

And who couldn't use a little pocket for your purse?
Or your ottoman?
Like I said, I love pockets!
