Big J's love of dinosaurs started when he was three years old. To tell you the truth, I thought his affinity for these prehistoric creatures would have petered out by now. Nope. Big J can't get enough of dinosaur books or figurines [he was thrilled when his grandparents sent him a box full of dinosaurs last month]. And he still says he wants to be a paleontologist [or snake catcher] when he grows up. So since he is turning five in a few months I decided to go against my "anti-birthday-party-theme" ways and throw him a dinosaur birthday party.
Of course last week while I had a million other things to do, I started working on ideas for Big J's birthday party invitations. It wasn't until this week that I realized the colors are identical to last year's joint birthday party for the boys. Oops. Anyways, these cupcake wrappers are so cute, but I'll probably just go with a little dinosaur cupcake topper [like this]. And I'm thinking of incorporating one of these on the buffet table. My goal is to have a tasteful + simple dinosaur birthday party, hopefully that is possible.
Oh, and this week is dinosaur week for Big J's class [last Friday was cowboy/girl day] so I whipped up some simple dinosaur applique shirts for the boys right before school yesterday.
Baby J requested a triceratops and Big J wanted an ankylosaurus on his shirt.
I think they're pretty happy with their new t-shirts.
Brotherly love. So sweet.
