SUMMER LOVING

Summer 2011 has been good to us so far. June and the first few weeks of July were a blur for me as I was busy preparing for our PACKAGING 101 workshops [both of which were so much fun]. Then for 2.5 weeks the boys and I spent time in California visiting family and friends. Once we returned from the Land of Sunshine the boys participated in summer camps and here we are with only three weeks until school starts. After this week we will be finished with camps [but still doing the beloved swim lessons] and I'm looking forward to going on a few little adventures with the boys and enjoying all this time we have together.

H A P P Y W E E K E N D

The boys have a four-day weekend and unfortunately I do not but we always make it work. I wish I could play all weekend long but there are too many deadlines in the next few weeks. I'm having fun preparing for j's 6th birthday party [did I say SIX?] and working on our upcoming PACKAGING101 workshop. My new hanging to do list is helping me out in the time management department so that is good news! Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Seems just like yesterday that J was off to his first day of preschool [yes, with a cast on his arm]. 

And last month he celebrated his 8th birthday [with a sprained ankle...see a trend, here?]. Can someone please press the slow motion button?

SUMMER SCHOOL PORTLAND

I'm so excited to tell you about SUMMER SCHOOL PORTLAND! Six creatives are hosting a day of workshops at The Ace Hotel in Portland on Saturday, June 18, 2011. I will be teaching a Packaging 101 class from 2-5pm with my dear friend Joke of Tokketok. You can read the class description here. If you want to learn how to create pretty little packages or party favors then this is definitely the class for you. We'll have a fun three hours of sharing packaging techniques and ideas and we'll spend time fiddling around with some beautiful materials and supplies. All participants will bring home a goody bag [some of the goodies I brought back from my last trip to Korea]. Hurry and sign up now because there are only 10 spots in the class. Joke and I will also be selling some one-of-a-kind packaging and stationery kits the day of the class.

MORE SPRING CLEANING

Happy to report my fabric stash has been cut in half! It was a good exercise to sort through all my fabric and figure out what I really am going to use in the near future. Now I know exactly what I have in my stash and this should help me next time I'm at the fabric store or better yet at the fabric market in Busan, where I'll be at the end of this week!

For those who snagged a fabric scrap box they are all being shipped tomorrow. I had a lot of little scraps left so I made a few more SPECIAL boxes which you can find here. Even though the photograph is a bag of fabric you will receive a box of quilting cottons, linen and wool felt scraps.
