The summer is flying by so quickly. Although the only "scheduled" activity for the boys is going on this week [vacation bible school], I am finding that each day is "filled" with trips to the zoo, museum, local farm, library or park. And more often than not our evenings consist of BBQ's at our house with friends, watching Appah play volleyball or hanging out at the homes of friends. Needless to say it has been a fun and full summer so far.
I spent an hour the other day cleaning up my studio--it was a disaster area after working on several shoppe updates, custom orders and v.b.s. preparations [I'm teaching Big J's class--so lots of craft sticks, construction paper and googly eyes all over the place]. And I finally put these new pin + strip sets in the shoppe. It is a bit ridiculous how many pin + boards I have in my studio, but I find them to be so useful and I think the pin + strip is one of my favorite things to make + use. But can you believe it has been over a year since I made one?
Each pin + strip comes with four push + pins and comes ready to hang on your wall.
And speaking of things to hang on your wall, earlier this month I finished an order of pin + pockets and wall + pockets for a new local lifestyle store, Ink & Peat. I met Pam, the proprietor and floral designer, a few years ago at studioCRAFT, when she was in the planning stages of her boutique. Well now the doors of Ink + Peat are open and let me tell you, it is really beautiful.
Pam has a wonderful modern and organic design sensibility and this is carried throughout the store and in her floral designs. She requested specific colorways for the pin and wall + pockets and it was my challenge to find coordinating fabrics that would fit her design aethestic. In the end we were both really pleased with the results.
